Chinese New Year Celebrations

Wow! What an exciting first week we've had back at school! We came back looking very smart, and ready to learn!

Today, we have had some very important visitors from China in school. They have been teaching us all about The Chinese New Year and we have learnt about some traditional Chinese customs. Firstly, we learnt that this Year the Chinese New Year is on 28th January, and it will be the year of The Rooster. We have enjoyed taking part in traditional lantern making, have cut the Chinese word for 'Happy' into paper, have explored some Chinese calligraphy, and even attempted some Kung Fu!!

For lunch we had some spring rolls, egg fried rice and Chicken Korma. We are very lucky to have had these visitors and we thank them for sharing these activities with us. We wish them a safe  journey back to China and hope to see them again in the future.
