Last week both Nursery and Reception went on a school visit. Nursery visited SEA LIFE and LEGOLAND Discovery in Manchester and Reception visited Underwater Street’s Imagine That! in Liverpool. Both classes had a fantastic time and we had lots of sleeping children on the way home from both visits!
At SEA LIFE, Nursery saw a range of sea creatures including Sharks, Starfish, Jellyfish and Pufferfish. During their time at LEGOLAND Discovery, the children enjoyed constructing a range of models. They saw lots of wonderful Lego creations such as Santa, Batman, a Lion and a Firefighter.
On Wednesday, Reception ventured to Underwater Street’s Imagine That to engage in lots of Science and Imaginative Play. They took part in 3 engaging workshops where they made their own bath bombs, their own Reindeer food and decorated their own Christmas decorations; these will all be sent home on the last day of term! In addition to this, the children visited the new STEM area of Underwater Street and they had lots of fun building their own bridges, Robots, houses and exploring the dark den.
Reception finished off their visit by engaging in lots of imaginative play inside the Imagination Village. The children had the opportunity to role play in a Hairdressers, shop at the Supermarket, make pizzas at the Pizzeria, look after animals in the Vets, and they even drove throw a car wash! All of the children dressed up as their favourite princesses and superheroes, they had a fantastic day!
This week, on Thursday 13th December, EYFS will be visiting Santa at Midstream Garden Centre, we hope they’re all on the good list.
