Hello and welcome to the Squirrels in Year 4.

Hello and welcome to Squirrels class made up of our Year 4children aged 8 and 9 . The class is taught by Mrs Whelan and several other members of staff contribute to the learning and wellbeing of the children throughout the day.

We have been learning lots of exciting, new things this half term, from conservation and how we can help to make our planet a better place to live, to discovering the world trading routes of our mobile phones.

In English, we have been developing our vocabulary, reading and writing skills through our books: When the Giant Stirred and Escape from Pompeii.  One of our most exciting days was when the whole school took part in performing a Shakespeare play in a day!

Measurement and fractions have been our main focus in Maths, and we have been practising our timetables recall with Times Tables Rockstars.

However, we have discovered the best way to start the week is rock climbing.  Every Monday morning we have an action-packed session on the climbing walls in Liverpool. (Comfortable clothing and trainers required).

We are also lucky to have swimming lessons once a week on Thursday afternoons
(swimming costume, towel  and goggles needed).

We Squirrels also love to sing, create amazing art and develop our language skills in Spanish.

If you would like to find out more, please visit our social media pages for exciting updates or make an appointment with the school office to come and visit us.
